Rainy River District Victim Services Program (RRDSVP) partners with emergency services to provide immediate emotional and practical support to victims of crime and tragic circumstances. We provide our services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We service the Rainy River District including the ten First Nations communities in the Fort Frances Tribal Area (not including Onegaming).
We train our volunteers to respond immediately to Police and other emerency services providers' requests for short-term emotional and practical support for victims.
Volunteers provide one on one assistance until the victim's own support network arrives. This ensures that the victim is in a safe place and is emotionally stable.
Volunteers can also provide clients/victims with referrals and contact information for other support services within our district.
Our clients can also be referred to the program by service professionals in the community or by visiting our office located in downtown Fort Frances.
